Compliance API coverage extends to Claude Cowork and Claude Code

Summary
Claude has extended beta support for its Compliance API to cover Cowork sessions on desktop, web, and mobile applications, as well as Claude Code sessions running in the CLI and desktop app. Enterprise customers can now retrieve session content and associated metadata through the same existing endpoints used for standard Claude chat activity, without requiring additional integrations or infrastructure changes.
The update supplies consolidated, server-hosted transcripts that combine prompts, model responses, and tool usage into single session records. Security and compliance teams can therefore include these surfaces in audits and eDiscovery workflows alongside conventional chat logs. The new endpoints are additive, preserving all previously collected data streams.
Coverage remains limited to direct Anthropic-hosted deployments. It excludes Claude Code accessed via the web, through the Claude Platform, or on third-party infrastructure such as Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or Microsoft Foundry. Organizations already exporting OpenTelemetry traces can continue to do so; the Compliance API operates independently and requires no additional configuration on the customer side. Access uses the existing Compliance Access Key once the feature is enabled for the organization.
Why it matters
Actionable update for Product Teams managing Claude Enterprise usage in regulated environments; directly addresses compliance workflows, data retention, and audit needs relevant to EU/Dutch enterprises.
